Program Partners

The Paddle the LA River program represents the collective efforts of several environmental organizations uniting to enhance public perception of the Los Angeles River. By paddling this scenic stretch, you experience first-hand that our urban river is part of an ecosystem that is both beautiful and significant to Los Angeles’ past and future. The Corps has partnered with Urban Semillas, Pacoima Beautiful, Heal the Bay, and LA Sanitation to develop a high caliber recreation-education kayaking program for the public.

Urban Semillas is a social conscientious, reconnaissance and outreach, community-based, watershed-driven organization. Our overarching goal is to educate underserved communities about watershed and social justice issues and provide them with community building skills. We empower communities to participate in local and citywide planning as well as county, state, and national policies.

Pacoima Beautiful brings community members together to learn how to address the needs of the community and find solutions. They help community members generate and implement long term and sustainable changes in order to improve the quality of life in the community. Pacoima Beautiful facilitates an evolving partnership between government, professionals/paraprofessionals and community volunteers to work toward common goals. They believe in volunteers to support and validate our programs.

Since 1985, people like you who care about our rivers, beaches and oceans have been a part of Heal the Bay's fight to make Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean. Heal the Bay continues to partner with you and thousands of your neighbors in southern California through community action programs such as Nothin' But Sand and Coastal Cleanup Day and through advocacy efforts to move municipal, state and Federal government and regulatory agencies to act in our collective interests.

On Fridays we take youth on kayaking educational tours of the LA River at no cost. This is made possible with the generosity of our sponsor LA Sanitation.
